I was born in Hong Kong, went to UK to study in 2002, and came to Berlin for work in October 2014.
I did my PhD in solid-state NMR of collagen biomaterials, and this is still my current project, though I am hoping to apply some recent technological/technical developments to push the boundaries of what can be resolved atomically in complicated biomaterials such as bone, cartilage and tendon.
My area of research means that I have to deal with topics from very diverse areas of science almost daily. I find this exciting and interesting, and I enjoy reading and discussing a wide range of topics.
I also have an interest in computing and find StackOverflow very helpful when I have programming problems. I am not a developer, but I do regularly attend events such as OggCamp in the UK, HAR and OHM in the Netherlands, and will be attending CCC in Germany this December (2014).
My other interests are rowing and cycling.
