I have been a musician for over thirty years, playing several instruments professionally, but now I am looking to change my career. I started my working life as a computer hardware engineer for a small original equipment manufacturer. I assembled, tested, delivered and installed the computers. I also did component-level diagnostics and repair to the motherboard and peripherals. With a little help, I prototyped a real-time clock, which went into production as the latest development for the company's product. The company's biggest installation contract while I was there was for Cambridge Instruments.
I have always been interested in electronics in some shape of form, so I am revisiting an area that I didn't have time to fully explore as a young man. I would like to make a significant and valid contribution to society, but it seems as though everything has been covered.
