comment Vaadin (Flow): Navigating to destination with a shared object
While changing my detailview logic to use this approach I noticed that a new UI instance is being created when refreshing the page. The initial navigation from list-view to detail-view works, but as soon as I refresh the detail-view, the UI does not have the productId stored anymore. Therefore, storing the id in the Session is probably better, although this will probably introduce issues when having multiple tabs open.

I prefer this answer over mine, as it does not expose the id in the url. More specifically, the user is not able to be sneaky and try out random productIds in the url. It's a little more complicated than my approach but well worth it in my opinion.

Nice Overview, it has already helped me much. Finally there's a place to look this up :) This should really be somewhere in the official docs.

@кириллбалашов stackoverflow.com/a/37280943/3441504 here the difference between dependencyManagement and dependencies is explained further. If you can't or don't want to understand it, just do the same in your pom.xml file as my code.

What do you expect when doing grid.getColumn("0")? there is no column called 0. you have an id column and a name column

Ok so grid.setItems(userRepository.findAll()); is the short form of my second approach. Does that mean the first approach did not work? If so I will edit it out of my answer.

As this is marked as partial answer, and because the answerer has not edited it since, I invite others to join and find the rest of the hints so I can mark this as the correct answer.

I can tell you that the words "a pretty cat" are the only words that are not part of a hint. I wrote this mainly for rhyming reasons.
