Aspiring writer, overworked editor, part-time ESL teacher, and (amateur) linguistic hobbyist (and struggling Italian learner).
I'm a plain-spoken American, and I try to teach English in everyday, easy to understand terms. I hold a BA in English from Rutgers College (former division of Rutgers University) and an MA in English literature from Fordham University.
I speak Spanish, and have a basic knowledge of Italian and Portuguese. Having learned a 2nd language (and working on a 3rd), I understand the challenges involved in acquiring a new language.
My style is a bit breezy and a touch folksy, but I am capable of writing/speaking in a more formal register when necessary.
