Joel Wigton

Formerly "while1"

Circuit design, embedded guy. Cut teeth on VLSI making very fast ALUs and high-speed analog IOs. Did a brief stint in firmware to run spinning rust (hard drives). Constant tinkerer and inventor.

I enjoy challenging circuit design work that pushes the design envelope in some way: particularly low-cost, high-volume, or low-power challenges. I enjoy working the boundaries between hardware and software.

I am fascinated by the world of manufacturing. I read prolifically on the subject of hardware startups and bringing products to market. I love simple, functional, and aesthetic designs and am constantly thinking about how to make such products better and cheaper.
