After those 10 years of rotating shiftwork I was reassigned to the training department, where I became an SME and provided classroom and field instruction in the following areas for both the initial license and the licensed operator requalification programs: Operations fundamentals including plant systems, reactor theory and dynamics, thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid flow. SME on several plant systems including turbine electro-hydraulic control, control rod drive, the plant integrated control system and analog to digital system conversion projects.

In addition served as a certified plant-specific simulator operator and floor instructor. Other qualifications including teaching team skills, learning styles, initial license program counselor, and lead several site-wide teams in various areas, both in technical and human relations arenas.

Became so interested in the teaching aspect of training that I obtained my bachelor's degree in Advanced Technical Education from Bowling Green State University at the age of 45.

Other outside interests include beer homebrewing, motorcycle long distance travel.

Plus at the age of 50 I started to learn to play bass guitar, and have been playing live 'gigs' for the last 17 years. I'm currently in a rock and roll and many other genres cover band, performing live about 35 shows per year.
