I'm a software developer who's been programming (for money) for about 11 years now.
I mostly know and use Java (EE) and standard web technologies, plus heaps of mostly open-source tools and libraries like Guava, Tomcat, Ant, JUnit, Selenium, and Jenkins. I really enjoy developing Java with IntelliJ IDEA and a Linux environment. [Update 2014: I really enjoy Android development with Android Studio on a MacBook. :-) ] In 2010-12 I was using Wicket a lot, and in my current job at Futurice I'm learning about stuff like:
- modern web development (JS frontend + REST API backend)
- Heroku as highly scalable platform for web backends, allowing maximum developer focus on the app itself, instead of infrastructure
- creating REST backends with stacks such as Java 8 & Spring Boot and Scala & Play Framework
- Android development (with Android Studio, Gradle, RxJava, etc)
