I've been programming since about 1970 when my high school mathematics instructor exposed the class to writing HP BASIC programs on an HP 2114 mini-computer, inputting our nascent efforts on optical-mark cards and editing our programs on a Teletype Model 35 ASR console. Since then, I've worked with a number of different programming and scripting languages as an adjunct to my electrical engineering profession and for personal entertainment and education. Along the way I got interested in aviation, earning a Private Pilot Single Engine/Land rating and later, a Commercial Pilot Rotorcraft/Helicopter rating, although I have not flown for hire.
