Fort Lauderdale, FL, USA

I am currently a Senior DBA (Database Administrator) at public university off of Chicago. I have been at this position for almost 10 years, and a remote worker for 7 out of the 10. I live in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and I love my job and the convenience that "commuting" for me takes all of 5 seconds. Among systems I am responsible for at the university is our LMS (Learn Management System), which is comprised of servers that host our online courses. Nearly 5,000 students and 1,500 instructors depend on that system alone, and we strive to provide 99.99 high availability. I am also responsible for nearly all other SQL Servers we have on premisses, a total of 26 SQL Server instances as of the date of this paragraph (12/22/2020). As I said, I love my job and enthusiastically think that Microsoft SQL Server is an excellent product that provides fantastic features, functionality, and security, combined with also fantastic management tools, which can easily be supplemented with third-party ones, if one so chooses. In this day and age where COVID-19 has forced us to lockdown, I have enjoyed the seclusion of my home and my home-office. Hopefully we will get this pandemic controlled soon so we can get back to our regular routines. (A visit to the beach would be nice in my case.) :-)
