I'm a Principal Software Engineer at Microsoft, working in the Azure Active Directory space. I deal with highly available, geographically replicated, scalable systems on a regular basis. In my previous world, I was a Software Architect at a leading unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) manufacturer, where I developed distributed and open architectures for aircraft.

I write code for work and for fun. Despite the rest of the world's slander, I actually enjoy C++. I think it is a brilliant language. I don't disagree that you can shoot yourself in the foot with it -- or sever your head from your body -- but that's not a reason to remove features from a language.
