comment Why can my body conduct electricity from a 9 volt battery?
My teacher in Electricity 9 warned us about any current going through the heart. His tip was to always keep one hand in your pocket. Needless to say, that became the running joke for the rest of the year. "Wait, you forgot to put your hand in your pocket! "

comment How can you prevent condensation/damp when you plan to leave a car idle?
Oops, I meant windows open just a bit. The warmed air can pick up humidity, then carry it out the windows.

Often the sheetrock acts as a fire break. It is flame rsistant and it protects the bare wood of the floor above.

comment heat dissipation in watts of equipment in a box
Outdoor security cameras use resistors to warm the inside of the enclosure. A typical setup puts 12VDC into 20 ohms, for a heating power of 7.2 watts. For larger wattage needs, a thermoswitch put into the circuit. Use 12 or 24 volts and some 5 watt resistors in parallel to get get some preliminary results. If your aluminum box is insulated then conduction through the box is reduced, and the formula does not apply. Try experimenting instead.

comment Connecting the secondary side of ignition coil to earth
Automotive ignition coils have an internal connection between the negative ground sides of the primary and secondary coils, and then to the metal case. They also use a high voltage wire with built-in suppressor resistance. Or you could add a high-voltage series resistor in the meg-ohm range.

comment brakes aren't releasing after replacing my brake switch and lamp failure module
Does your brake pedal sit lower than usual before you press it? The new switch/module could be preventing the brake pedal from rising fully..Look at the switch while moving the pedal with your hand.

One of your photos suggests that you were blown out of your shoes. Did you accidentally touch a hot wire?

comment How to remove old house number
An old sharp wood chisel will give you a narrow cut with less breakage. In addition to my good wood chisels, I keep on hand an old chisel that I call a "sacrificial" chisel.

comment 1999 Chevy Suburban 5.7 - What is "Valid Reference Pulse"
The sensor in the distributor is not the cam sensor, it is the hall effect sensor which detects the spinning reluctor. The camshaft sensor is on the front of the engine. Check this link: itstillruns.com/…
