Although I may not have the exact skill set you require, my CV may not appear if you do SELECT * FROM candidates WHERE skills LIKE required_skills I have something which no skill set based search will ever highlight, namely, software engineering experience, from design through to testing and debugging, a high degree of adaptability and the ability to get things done. I have a deep understanding of how computers work and can use that to quickly get to grips with whatever environment I'm working in. Before working at iCubed, I had no experience in C#, .NET, VxWorks, RTOS, embedded programming and cash processing systems, but now I'm very proficient. Before working at IOMO I had no experience in using J2ME (the version of Java used in early mobile phones), but have since successfully completed several projects.

So I may not match the required skill set, but I know how to become very proficient in a given environment and I have the ability to get the job done.
