In a former life, I was an operations specialist in the US Navy.
Today, I work as a software engineer, systems engineer, and/or IT architect. I have spent nearly half of my career in an operations role, managing clusters and environments with large numbers of servers. The other half of my career has been in systems engineering with a focus on big data systems.
Weekends, I enjoy getting outdoors as much as possible. Hiking, backpacking, biking, canoeing, etc. I have completed advanced bushcraft courses, various survival courses, and other "outdoor" themed education (firecraft, plant identification, etc) as time permits. I have also been associated with the BSA for the past seven years, and have taken all of the training they offer in my area (wood badge, wilderness first aid, advanced scouting skills, etc).
