Berlin, Germany

About Me

An Englishman from the northern county of Yorkshire (a.k.a God's Own Country) and currently living in Berlin since 2015, where I live with my girlfriend and 1-year-old son.

If you are unfamiliar with Yorkshire, it's a partially-beautiful place where people talk like they are from Winterfell and a plate-sized food made out of batter and cooked in lard is considered a starter... but called a pudding.

Professional Background

Freelance (2015 - 2017) - I left London for Berlin in 2015, to work as a freelancer, while also learning to code on the side. While freelancing, I worked on a number of advertising-related projects, including a dynamically-localised, geo-targeted banner ad campaign, served in hundreds of countries.

BIG|DB (2014 -2015) - When the creative director at my former job left to set up his own company, I was employed as their first employee due to my range of skills and ability to learn new things in a short space of time. Here I got to work on a number of exciting digital creative projects for the likes of Adidas, Skoda, Converse, and Jaguar. This is also gave me the opportunity to experiment with cutting edge technologies like virtual and augmented reality.

ClickTag (2012 -2014) - After graduating from Northumbria University with a degree in Interactive Media Design in 2011, I got a job as a digital creative, where my main role was designing and developing banners in Flash and ActionScript. I also did a lot of After Effects work and worked with clients like YouTube, Halifax, Toyota, and TFL.

My Current Mission

After taking a lot of courses in C# and most-recently in full-stack web development using Node.js, Express, and MongoDB, I am [very] actively looking for an entry-level developer position. Learning how to make web applications has been such an exciting journey, filled with new and invigorating discoveries and I am spending every day following what has become a genuine passionate obsession.
