My name is Shawn Janas, I'm 20 and I love mathematics, business and computer science. I live in Hamilton, Ontario and I am working for a degree in Business Informatics(Computer Science & Business). I have over 4 years of programming experience in 5 startups.

By the time I graduated high school I already had several years of experience creating websites in PHP, games in Flash(AS3), and artificial intelligence in Java. I am a self-taught hacker. I learned everything on my own just by doing it, which gave me unique skills in computing.

As of August 2011, I am working on my own startup together with Tamoor Shafi and Chris Hayes in the area of photo and video sharing/contests strictly for Collage Students. We're a social platform that gives brands the right tools to create viral photo contests directly targeted towards a dense highly-valued demographic. We're developing on a NodeJS, Redis backend and a backbone.js, handlebars.js frontend.

My hobby is learning programming languages and working with/creating startups. I have launched 3 startups in the past. All have failed but I believe that the journey and the skills developed are the most important part so I feel that I succeeded anyways.

I am currently looking for a summer 2012 internship and willing to relocate anywhere.
