Yours is the best answer by far. Sucks that some doofus got the green check mark for an answer that doesn't work.

comment What was more powerful - the power of the ring or the willpower of Gandalf and Aragorn?
@StefanUrziceanu First of all, there is no scientific basis for believing in spirits, but if there was, Sauran would contain Sauran's spirit. Second of all, inanimate objects can't want things, and even if they could, they would have no way to fulfill their desires since they are inanimate.

comment Could Data have taken out Admiral Quinn?
Also, Data is impervious to the amount of physical trauma Quinn could have delivered. It showed that he is bullit proof in First Contact. Quinn could beat on Data on day and it would have no effect.

@JohannesPille I've read the Hobbit. Couldn't get into the LOTR crap though. It was like plodding through boring muck. Movies were okay though, hence why I referenced the movies. And an inanimate object can't have a will. It's not like a pen wants to write crap. How could a ring even have a will? It doesn't even have a rudimentary nervous system. That's preposterous.

comment When do people start distrusting the Galactic Empire?
There could be no semblance of democracy among billions of citizens, let alone among thousands of planets, each with billions of citizens. Your point 3 is wildly inaccurate because no one would ever feel they had any say in galactic affairs to begin with.
