Testing for an Application level dialog in Excel 2010 Siddarth - I tested this on a non-protected, Excel 2010-based file and it worked beautifully. I confirmed that I can open a non-modified file and recover the Save/Send ability. I also confirmed that if the target file is password protected, I cannot make this modification, so I assume that I will need to remove the password on the file itself first before making this change. Thanks again - you ROCK! |

Testing for an Application level dialog in Excel 2010 Siddarth - how do I make this work for both Excel 2007 and Excel 2010? Does this mean I need a version of my file for each version of Excel? |

Testing for an Application level dialog in Excel 2010 No, I don't believe so. This is a fairly low level feature within Excel. The mail function is associated with Outlook not Excel and the button basically just calls an Outlook dialog box. |

Excel Send As Attachment is sending cached version of file whytheq - would this modification allow removal of options under the File | Save & Send menu? Is that even part of the Ribbon? |

Excel Send As Attachment is sending cached version of file I am not very familiar with XML coding, and I'd hate to implement something I don't fully understand. I'm getting the sense that there really isn't any workaround to my problem. Is XML manipulation even possible in Excel 2007? I have some users who are still stuck on that version. |

Excel Send As Attachment is sending cached version of file I saw the link on how to modify the UI to remove the mail as attachment function using XML. My preference is to not do that, just because if anything should happen while the user is working with my file and I don't have a chance to reset the UI, it will cause a problem. |

Excel Send As Attachment is sending cached version of file that would mean that I would have to do the prep of these forms for the entire company, which is not in my job description! :-) Also, if they disable macros, they disable a large part of the functionality that makes the tool a risk (it contains pay info). |
