I'm mostly a Rubyist, with a solid background in Rails (since version 1.x). I've spent most of my time lately digging through the New Relic Ruby Agent, Sinatra, and EventMachine.
Recently I started programming Scala because of two words: play + akka. I've been a fan of the JVM, and Java, but something about Java seemed a bit boring (no offense! It made me love type saftey). Scala's type system and functional style are making for a much more interesting and fun learning experience.
