After 10 (wonderful) years at Microsoft, I decided to leave and scratch the start-up itch once more.

I specialize in designing and building modern apps and cloud-scale systems, blending the best of Microsoft's tools and platforms (e.g. C#/.NET, Windows 8, Windows Server, Azure) with the best of the open-source world has to offer (e.g. GIT, MongoDB, node.js, CoffeeScript, etc.)

At Microsoft I worked with a number of customers and led the team implementing the platform upon which the UK Government Gateway is built. I then moved to Microsoft in Redmond, WA, USA, and worked on Windows Communication Foundation, Windows CardSpace and Visual Studio Team System. I was a frequent speaker at conferences around the world and wrote/co-wrote numerous articles for Microsoft's MSDN Library and several publications.
