I got a degree in Ingegneria Informatica (=electronics + CS flavour) at University of Padua (Italy) in 1999. I am working in the mobile computing world for 5 years but I also designed HVAC controls for 4 years, mostly designing and developing firmware and software (C, C++, VB.net).
