Age: 23

Hi, my name is Niklas and I'm a computer enthusiast/hacker/engineer from Germany, currently studying Computer Science at KIT Karlsruhe.

My main interests with regard to technology include free software, dynamic high-level languages, functional programming, system programming, algorithms and IT security.

Currently (July to October 2014) I am doing an software engineering internship in Google's information security team in the Mountain View office.

Alongside my studies, I do freelance work for factis research GmbH (among others), developing web-facing and server-side components of Checkpad MED, a mobile patient record application for clinics and physicians. I'm always open for new challenges.

I have worked in information security before at 8com GmbH, experimenting with exploits and developing payloads as part of a framework for client-side post-exploitation. I also wrote software demonstrating the exploitation of security-related issues, including man-in-the-middle attacks on online banking interfaces and tools to extract data from social networks.

I actively participate on Codeforces, TopCoder and ACM ICPC and have acquired a notable deal of practical algorithm knowledge in the process.
