English is said to be the world's most complicated language. Although I've spoken nothing else for more than four decades, it still confuses me sometimes. But I believe its complexity and flexibility are what make it versatile. I'm still learning new things about English, and I expect that process to last as long as I do.
I'm not above occasionally bending or breaking a grammar rule for good cause. But I do believe clear, persuasive communication requires sensible, well-respected language conventions.
