comment How do you set the focus of a TinyMCE textarea element?
Worked fine here. I've put a condition on my code that checks for existence of "autofocus" attribute on textarea field. If true, auto_focus is set to textarea id, else, auto_focus is set to false.

comment How can I prevent the dropdown from opening in a DropDownList?
On IE7, the "event.preventDefault()" command will throw a javascript error, probably because, in your case, "event" property refers to another event besides select's mousedown. But thanks to this javascript error, dropdown opening is prevented. A good "side-effect" maybe.

comment Set The Window Position of an application via command line
@FuzzyWuzzy Great solution! Using AutoHotKey, I've created a script that open four instances of VBALink emulator (for netplay), resize all windows in order for each of them to occupy 1/4 of the desktop, and positioned each window in a different corner of my screen (top left, top right, bottom left and bottom right). It worked like a charm!

comment jQuery UI Autocomplete - How to tell if "autocompleteopen" event is triggered when the suggestion menu is opened or updated?
@DanielSimpkins Good idea! In theory, that'll solve the fadein transitions problem, but dunno about my additional events. I'll try that later.

comment jQuery's after method not working with newly created elements
Strangely, I'm getting this same bug after updating jQuery from 1.8.2 to 1.11.0. The $.after() and $.before() methods aren't working on newly created elements. I need to firstly add the newly created element to DOM, and then insert the new content to it. Another workaround is using $.add() method, but it won't work if you wish to insert content before the element.

comment Check specifically if jQuery.ui.autocomplete is undefined
Tried that solution a week ago and that's the best way of solving this problem. I just needed to test if jQuery UI Core library is loaded, and then test all of them. Something like this: if($.ui != undefined && $.ui.autocomplete != undefined){ return true; } Of course I needed to check all needed js libraries, so I made a function that check all libraries that I need to load, then start loading it with a recursive function that loads all js files through $.ajax (or $.getScript without cache).
