comment Modifying the properties of controls from another thread in VB.net
This looks more managable. Thank you. Still was hoping for something a bit more concise, but its good to know that the main way to reduce the amount of code is to refactor to groups of changes. I'd upvote but apparently you can't even upvote answers to your own question if you are a n00b here :(

comment Laptop Dedicated graphics or Shared Graphics
Honestly I wouldn't worry much about the specific laptop affecting performance with regard to gaming. Why? First of all the graphics card is the single most important factor in determining gaming performance and is almost always the limiting factor when it comes to laptops. Second, most laptops that contain a discrete graphics chip are higher end and therefore contain more than powerful enough cpu's and amounts of memory. As long as you have 4gb + of ram and a recent CPU all you need to worry about is the GPU. While laptop reviews are often subjective GPU benchmarks are solid data.

comment Virtual Machine Backup ESXI 5
@Zoredache - I understand that preferably data should be backed up on multiple physical machines spread between multiple geographic locations. What I am looking for here is more of a stop-gap measure until I decide on a suitable NAS solution. While my data will not be fully protected, will creating a separate data store on a separate drive suffice to protect me from a single drive failure? An underlying question here would be can I recover the data of a datastore by removing the drives from the server and plugging them into another machine?
