@dorothy these are not that hard to implement really. Cluster updates (for more traditional weights) are surely detailed in eg W Krauth's book or MOOC. And he uses python.

This looks like a 30x30 Ising model with a rather unorthodox weight. I'd first try to use an MC process with a local moves, just flipping bits. An obvious generalization is to use some sort of cluster updates, eg Wolff-type ones where you flip a connected cluster of ones or zeros.

On my laptop, which is not the fastest thing on earth, stats.beta.ppf(0.9, np.random.random(1000000), np.random.random(1000000)) takes about twelve seconds. You are probably looking for something else, so it's best if you edit it into your answer.
