comment ExpressJs execute a callback after sending a response for every route
Why don't you just add your caching logic in your routes right after sending the response? You can execute code after sending the response.

comment error handling using winston not returning response
what exactly do you mean by "the response never came back to browser"? What does your app do after the logging takes place? Do you return an error in the response?

I just want the field to accept strings without coercing them.

comment Elasticsearch fails silently if document has mapping mismatch for a field
See my updated question for an example. I think the flag you just mentioned might be what I was looking for. The only issue is that this would just ignore the malformed field but still index the rest of the doc which is not good for me since that field is required. I'd like it to fail and return an error if it tries to index a malformed field. Is there a way to do that?

Thanks for your answer. Yes my mapping specifies a long type (see my updated question) but I would like to index strings which cannot be converted to integers. So I don't think this would work in this case but it's useful for other cases. Thanks!

comment Bluebird promises freeze when using Sinon's fake timer
I agree. In this test case though all I want to do is freeze the time rather than control its progression. That's why stepping the timer feels like an overkill. What I want to do was possible before updating those libraries to the newest versions and that's why I wanted to find out if it still possible. Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks! However, I want to avoid to step the timer as this is not needed by my test. I just need to do this because of incompatibilities between two libraries and it doesn't sound right! PS: Thanks for your suggestion about how to handle promises with Mocha.
