I use a Mac at home, a remote Debian server. I Dual boot Win 7 for the occasional game. I also run VMs of several other Operating Systems (Debian, Ubuntu, CentOS, Win 7, Win XP).

I'm learning HTML, CSS, PHP, MYSQL, Javascript, BASH Scripting.

I have little experience with C#, Perl, Python.

I want to learn Python and C (or C++) one day.

Ah right, of course sudo. It would be really helpful if they had a system in place which would return an error like "root privileges required" or something a little more obvious.

So it seems like even if I create a new user, it still wont let me login, even via ssh, but it does work with the login command when im already logged in via root

I've never been to that file, but guess something else could have changed it. It's contents are: pastebin.com/xjNgA7ZM

Yeah, that's what I thought, but I copied it into passwd, and pasted it into my SFTP client to avoid that. And yeah I can log in locally, so why would sftp be blocked.
