I will need to do another round of this and order the employees within each subsection according to either a priority set in the JSON or by another separate object. Not sure if that warrants another question on stack (if I get stuck) or if I can roll it into this question?

Fixing the order of parameters in inArray did the trick for separating my sub-sections by priority set in my subdeptorder object. THANKS! For some reason I still need to wrap the return inside grep with a conditional in order to return only employees whose department is the same as the department of the employee selected. But this gets me by!

I can tell "order" is right, because I can see it in log.. but the results array is not being sorted according this. It's still printing them according to the alphabetical order of the employees last name.

I only want to return employee.DEPT = dept if they match, so I wrapped that in a conditional. But this is still printing them in alphabetical order after the first employee. I can't figure out how it's picking the first employee just yet, with the above code. I set up my deptorder array (calling it deptorder now since it assigns dept and subdept order), it just doesn't seem to be using it yet. (also, comma needed after employee.TITLE)

I assume what you've added above (daemonizer) is a better solution than python imageproc.py& -- but could you tell me why? I would still need to run the daemonizer script after reboot? I assume I need to add the config file to quickstart, and would this also mean that I need to remove the quickstart call from my app? And does this mean I wouldn't have to execute my app imageproc.py anymore? Sorry I'm a beginner with Python/Cherrypy..
