comment Non-slanted (siunitx style) unit prefixes with pgfplots
Yes, but ultimately it requires a package for the upright greek. Forcing the user to load it is not the best way around. Agreed there should be a switch to handle the micro command in a generic way.

Correct! :) I just posted that :) However it is not a bug, if you do not use siunitx changing to \micro would not compile (try leaving out unit code/.code).

comment say something in parentheses
I think this is more a question of semantics than of LaTeX? I think this is appropriate either for the English site, or the Academia site. Once you know what is correct, then come ask specifically about such usages. :)

comment Drawing a 3D cylinder, and a circle shape on the x---y plane
I would probably make the xy plane a transparent light greyish colour, while making the circle that cut the plane thicker, however, "correct" 3D imaging needs tinkering, a lot. :) If you just want the full circle, just be sure you draw the things in the correct order, so draw the plane circle last.

yes. That is of course required (or you can let the make command move the files). I will mark it as a duplicate.

comment Complex function plot using TikZ or PGFPlots
Welcome to TeX.SE. Have you looked in the manual of either package? There are examples of how to plot functions, tables of data etc. Please be more specific on what exactly you have problems with. (note that complex functions are nothing but the x-axis as the real part of the function, and the y-axis as the complex part of the function, if this is one of the problems?)

comment Having troubles working with .png and .eps
What do you mean by "with less quility than the original in the pdf viewer"? Are you comparing the Texstudio viewer with Adobe Reader for instance? (LaTeX does not compress the png files, so I guess it is a feature of your viewer).
