comment Why isn't my EventAggregator Subscription Handling This Event?
Yes, everything is working now! Sorry for the delay - I went to sleep. The CurriculumDeletedEvent reference was just overlooked when I renamed everything in my SO pasted code.

I just didn't get the distinction - tho I do remember you mentioning it in the course. Is there any way to configure the EventAggregator to do both?

Per the documentation, the Microsoft Async NuGet package you linked to requires .NET 4.5 or greater... but still a great answer.

comment Styling and Formatting the ComboBox selected item to match the ItemTemplate
Yeah, I fully expect to have to do some manual parsing - but for the life of me I can't get the face of the ComboBox to display a selected DateTime the same way as the list. I even tried creating a custom template selector and I can't get that to work either.

@H.B. I agree. However, despite this grievous error, the Label has nothing to do with the issue at hand. Can we focus on that please?

comment Styling and Formatting the ComboBox selected item to match the ItemTemplate
@H.B. The Label provides padding and margins to make the list of items more pleasing to the eye. The TextBox is inside the Label because it has a Text property and can be formatted with StringFormat. Getting rid of the Label made no difference in the face of the ComboBox.

comment Can editable WPF ComboBox text be formatted differently to the formatting of the items in the drop-down?
When IsEditable is equal to false, the ComboBox uses a ContentPresenter to display the currently selected item; when IsEditable is equal to true, a TextBox is used for this purpose instead. Note that a TextBox only displays plain text, and that a ComboBoxItem may include non-plain text content, such as images.
