comment Interface (contract), Generics (universality), and extension methods (ease of use). Is it a right design?
@Graham, thank you for answering. To use a third party library is not my concern here. That would be the first choice of course. I need to implement a conversion framework. A simple one, with the requirements I mentioned above.

comment Property-level value transformation for indirect object casting
good reasoning. I also like to add that "Dog's bark" is an action, while "Tree's bark" is a noun. Based on these differences, we might get more specific. I mentioned type comparison too. A method is not equivalent to a property (attribute). Though using semantics we can achieve more, your argument is still valid.

comment Property-level value transformation for indirect object casting
It's because of something I saw, about "single essence, multiple existence".

And what if you want to set "Password never expires" flag for the currently created user? How could you do that?

comment Deploying custom fxcop rules amongst developers
thanks for sharing your experience. I guess we have to go with the same approach too.

comment MSBuild is unable to locate the FxCop binaries
It can only access the ruleset. But for each rule, it needs the corresponding DLL files (the real code that does the analysis) to be loaded, and I think that's impossible to be on a shared location on network.

I have the same requirement. Did you find anything useful?

comment What's the explanation of this behavior in C#
then how do you explain this: change human = new IsAHuman(); to IsAHuman tempVariable = null;. Still you get error even though you haven't called a constructor method on that object.

Can you provide detailed, CIL and CLR explanation? Does "used" mean to execute one instruction of CIL?

Then what about the second line? If you comment the IsAHuman instantiation line, you still have the HasAHuman instantiation line, which would be executed without any problem.

@zespri, that's true. But what do we mean by "used" in our code. From the point of CLR, I need a more robust explanation. Thank you.
