I'm a big advocate for semantic HTML and a standards-based Web. Don't talk to me unless you just get why distributed version control is important to use (or try to argue that it's just not enterprisey enough for large corporations). I also get "surprised" (read: irked) when I talk to other developers that have never heard of the SOLID principles, think static variables and/or singletons aren't evil (they do have their place, say extension methods), and state the only benefit of interfaces is "multiple inheritance" in C#.
