comment Can't get my custom template to work with my custom subclass
Thanks Zauberfisch, you are being very helpful. As per the template: please do what I did: just clone DropdownField.ss to DropdownFieldData.ss and see if it works. As per the down/upvoting. The question had been upvoted and the downvoted, that's why it is zero now. I don't care about the reputation, I am just curious what the downvoter found wrong about my question.

I edited my post to include the class code. The symptom remains.

Thank, it did not help though. I'm trying to extend the Dropdown so that its <option>s have data-* attributes from specified columns of DataObject. Thus, I would want to only mess with the control itself, not its holder.

Also, what about IF around "Errors are", testing for errors presence - is it possible as well?

Thanks for a lesson! it works. But what if I wanted to properly try/catch and dump report with the file name that failed to rename? is it possible?

That's much better. At this point of learning I'm more repeating other people's code than understanding, but now it works. Thank you. Even though it does not handle compund switches like -am I think it will suffice for the time being. Answer accepted and appreciated!

Thanks for that, it looked promising, but did not work actually. I messed around with %* changed to %1 as well as with switches in form of -am and -a -m. Nothing happened :(

Agreed. This token was not available at the time I suggested my not-scalable solution :)

comment HTML: table row/table cell to close or not to close?
As per all container tags (p, li, td...) they definitely should be closed, even though most browsers can handle them unclosed. As per so called void elements (meta, img, br, etc.) more and more voices say they should not be closed. Myself, I have spent so many years with XHTML apps, I'm now very uncomfortable seeing any tag not closed. impressivewebs.com/html5-syntax-style There was also an article on sitepoint.com but I cannot find it now.
