I'm a web developer working with C#/.NET. I strive to write good quality applications and I always try to write clean and beautiful code. Sure, the app has to look pretty for the end users, but someday some programmer will be reading my code and they will say "wow, I never would of thought to write it like that". For example I use a lot of LINQ. I try to balance the "syntactical sugar" with performance.
I also try to stay on top of emerging technology/frameworks and I strive to use them according to accepted patterns and practices.
