comment How to use CF cards in a Kyocera FS-1010?
I don't see how this isn't a fine answer? Yeah it might not be complete for a reason or two, but it gives good information? People these days are just so darn negative all the time on the internet... Forums are dying because of this.

comment Sizing Intel Hex Files prior to ISP
@PeterBennett thanks, in my haste I overlooked the RAM difference. Got concentrating on size because that's what was being discussed in the shop. That is the most likely cause though, thank you for your time and advice.

comment Sizing Intel Hex Files prior to ISP
Wow... I'm confused because the firmware works on a 128k chip that is compatible with the 64k chip I'm using now,as stated by ATMEL support. The firmware programs and runs fine, yet when I put it on the 64k chip it programs and doesn't run. The size given by AVR-SIZE states it should fit on the chip. This is not a duplicate question because the other one I asked was specific to the behavior of FLIP/batchisp. Not the actual size of the firmware fitting on the chip... love the hate though gents

comment AT89c51RE2 replaced with AT89LP51RD2, ISP programming
Turns out the error is caused by the last few commands in BatchISP "MEMORY SECURITY & MEMORY CONFIGURATION" which are specific to the at89c51re2, and the at89lp51rd2 has different methods of settings these. The first is the security bit obviously, and the second is the FCB Configuration bit. I have yet to figure out the exact command to do these same functions on the re2 but have contacted ATMEL hoping they'll have some insight.

Thanks for the info, yes I'll be looking into this over the weekend. It seems to be programming the chip just fine though, so rather confusing
