Reliable way for a bash script to get the full path to itself? The OP already noted this solution and disregarded it for not being POSIX -- but this is nice and tidy for GNU-based systems at least. The key feature of this is that it resolves symbolic links. |

No display when discrete graphics card inserted @Karan: Thanks for the info. Is this what you are talking about: Are there any video cards that support UEFI GOP? |

Element wise multiplication of a matrix and a vector? I believe that Octave will now do this automatically (they call it "broadcasting"). By default, you will get a warning. |

In a family with two children, what are the chances, if one of the children is a girl, that both children are girls? A link to this Wikipedia article was given in the main comments, but I wanted to point out that the article addresses the psychology of this problem, in an attempt to expose the seeming "paradox" of common intuition. |

In a family with two children, what are the chances, if one of the children is a girl, that both children are girls? Does one mean at least one, exactly one, at most one, a specific one? I think Judie's point was that the parameters of the problem are not clearly stated -- you have to make an assumption about the intent. The given answers generally assume that in this case one was intended to mean one or two, but maybe we don't know that from the question by itself unless we recognize it due to prior exposure to this type of problem. |

Migrating a header file to a config file @MistyD: Your question states that it is about recompiling: "so that I do not have to rebuild the entire project". |

Migrating a header file to a config file @MistyD: My solution will enable you to avoid recompiling all of the dependent files. It will only take an instant to recompile 'config.cpp'. If you have a huge project and you are actually trying to avoid both compiling and linking, then things git a bit more complicated. |

Enable USB smartcard inside VMware @Ramhound makes a good point: there is no "smart card" per se. This device is a "SIM token" which (I believe) functions as a reader with a built-in card. It is befuddling that, since the card cannot be removed, the error message that I get from ActivClient is "No Card Detected" -- even though it has no complaints about its ability to communicate with the "card reader". There must be some layer of complexity interfering with the driver, probably either in the Linux kernel or in the VMware software -- the Windows VM previously worked, before I moved it to a new workstation. |

Enable USB smartcard inside VMware I have attempted this with the ActivClient software both closed and uninstalled -- this seems to have no effect on my ability to use the key. |
