Finally got it working.... at least encryption anyway. You think no Linq is bad - try no method overloads. BouncyCastle didn't work at all until I wrote in handlers for basic things like converting between types and getting the length of objects/arrays, etc... this is going to be a nightmare. But seriously, thanks a ton.

@sa_ddam213 it looks like BouncyCastle will work - I have a working AES encrypt/decrypt class - now it's just a matter of throwing together a decrepit emulation environment that only has .NET CF 1.0 installed so that I can verify functionality. Can you add your solution as an answer so that I can give you credit.

Thanks for the idea @owlstead - and yes we aren't fond about the XTEA idea, that is just how the vendor currently implements all of their "security".

Yeah... we about fell out of our chairs when they said they required less than 3.0 (before we knew the full details) - but thanks I will look into Bouncy Castle.

comment Migrate linux dhcp to active directory
In our environment we have two AD DHCP servers that are an active/passive MS Cluster. The DHCP databases lives on a secondary drive which is listed as a resource in the MS cluster. In so doing, if one server fails, the database migrates to the other node right before AD brings up DHCP services and transfers the cluster name and IP. However - if you were to do something of this nature - ensure that the shared drive lives on redundant storage as well.

If the excel file is text only you can parse it and export the excel to say CSV and then write the PDF by inputting the CSV data - otherwise depending on your operating system you could make use of the adobe pdf printer driver

Also, depending on the environment once the code is corrected to receive file system paths, be aware that PHP safe mode can negatively affect the results as per the docs. php.net/manual/en/function.file-exists.php

comment how to validate date with PHP
Sorry, I should have been more clear. Duel validation is always best. (HTML/JavaScript/etc) for on page pre-submission validation and verification of date formatting for the normal user and then server side validation for sanitation before processing.
