comment Better way to populate entity from request?
I started down this path, but it creates the same quandary. I would need to define each property for the DistributionType class. My aim is to alleviate the "code smell" of all these setFoo(bar) entries. I realize that $form->bind($distribution) would work, but it seems to move the problem from one class to another.

comment Better way to populate entity from request?
Good observation, @mbinette. I can envision resolving this with an annotation on the setXXX() methods to declare them as permissible for this operation. It would be limited to the setXXX() methods so I don't see that they could execute the dropDatabase() method, but your caution is well received.

comment REST and redirecting the response
The POST request is sending a document from client using a form upload. I agree about PUT, but the jury is somewhat out on browser support there. The use case is returning to the form with a flash message with a response status.

comment Array treatment of multiple twig template blocks
This would work, but my concern is that the content portion of the array is going to be a load of html, much of it using twig variables and functions.

comment Applying watermarks on pdf files when users try to download the files
I used this and was getting all the pages displaying on the first page. I was able to fix this by adding $this->pdf->addPage(); to the end of the loop in doWaterMark(). I made some other minor changes so I'm not confident to edit your answer but this may help if others have this problem.

comment jquery data tables - Server-side processing not working as expected
@manraj82 you are asking the browser to parse 50k records in JSON format. This is a lot of data to process. Start by passing back only 1,000 records and see if it runs quickly. Now change your back end to deliver only 1k and give the user next/prev buttons to page through the results and a good search box to find records in the entire 50k set.

You are getting the unresponsive script notice from the browser, right? Have you tried sending less than 50k records and to let the the user page through results?
