Should I write compact code or code with lots of spaces? @FrustratedWithFormsDesigner I dunno, in the second sample here the identifiers aren't as short as they could legally be, which is what a minifier would do. Programmers from a more... ?academic/?theoretical background tend to go for things like fst, snd and so on. Look at typical Haskell code, for example: it's not minified, it just looks like it :)

How to show $x^4 - 1296 = (x^3-6x^2+36x-216)(x+6)$ This is much easier if you recognise $1296$ as being $6^4$ straight away, but if not it factorises very quickly. |

Why must I wait 5s after deleting my own comment to perform any other comment actions? On Meta.SO: Deleting a comment (mine) shouldn't count as a comment vote is [meta-tag:status-bydesign], so currently there is little prospect of a change. |
