comment Close primefaces dialog and redirect main page
Because, when you're redirecting with the dialog open, you are only doing a redirect of the iframe displayed in the dialog. And that is exactly what I do not need, as described in the question.

comment Close primefaces dialog and redirect main page
Edited, nothing special though, just a p:commandButton triggering an ajax submit. Note that I tried with a h:commandButton as well, giving the same result.

comment Included JSP generates a nested form element in JSF 1.1
Secondly, if you can, move away from JSP and get accustomed with facelets. I understand it often depends on other stuff, but JSP really is done and dusted, and for good reason.

comment Using .htaccess to redirect to relative address
Also, do you want a HTTP redirect or just a rewrite of the url? You might want to look into the modifier flags at httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/rewrite/flags.html

comment Reading XML and keep DOM model in memory
Indeed, but is there still a reference to doc after the method ran? Or would I have to detach the element first?

comment Reading XML and keep DOM model in memory
I'm not keeping a reference to doc, only to stored, hence my question if doc will be garbage collected. So, I guess GC on doc is only possible when I detach the element from the doc?
