comment Select and remove lines matching a pattern from a file
@auL5agoi: That's what grep -v does, apart from not having a n "in place" switch.

comment Lack of statistical normalization (in tag badges) of merit system penalizes effort in favor of popularity
Makes me wonder how it would look if for a tag badge, you'd need to be in the top x% (by whatever metric) of people "involved" in that tag (having gained 10 upvotes there or something?). That would mean a less busy tag has easier badges in absolute terms, but you still need to be "better than many of your peers". A very rare tag might not have gold badges at all (not enough questions and peers to average out the noise). OTOH, that means you could lose a tag badge again.

Workaround to a zeoth approximation is to add a # to the end of your link, as in many many cases, referencing a non-existing fragment of the page is not harmful.

@JiFus: that doesn't maintain the aspect ratio.

As a counterargument, as @Ben Voigt points out below, on a busy tag, you're racing a much larger number of people to get your answer in while people still look at it. I doubt anybody cares about additional not-accepted answer #6.

comment How to escape colon and double slash in shell script?
Beware of mixing your quotes like that, you want to replace a line with double-quote in it, not with single-quote, you say.

comment Non-repudiable vs non-refutable vs non-reputable in computer security
"Signed"? (This is somewhat tongue-in-cheek, I know that a signature serves several other legal purposes in addition to non-repudiation. I have no idea what a layperson outside of law and IT makes of "non-repudiation", though.)

@FranLegon: Then you're currently out of luck with pure CSS, but stackoverflow.com/a/7680712/505649 has some good pointers.
