I've developed on the web for 17 years. I can configure pools of servers, architect and develop the applications on those servers, and make it all look good (and run). I am a Professor at Franklin University, hold a Master's in Computer Science and I lead 500 members of the Columbus Ruby Brigade. I've launched projects for folks from Rackspace, AT&T, Sprint, LivingSocial and SeoMoz to local engineering and consulting firms.

I currently work at Rackspace as a Developer Advocate. It rules.

comment Airport Extreme Base Station roaming network crazy ping times
Thank you very much for your answer; unfortunately switching to random channels between 36 & 161 I am seeing similar results. I've also tried renaming the 5GHZ band and joining that network. No luck so far.

comment When downloading an image uploaded with Carrierwave to S3, I get a blank empty image
The usual best practice is to have a set of pre-defined sizes and let Carrierwave resize upon upload of that file, not as a just-in-time resizer. Would this be possible for your app?

comment 2 Pair Ethernet not working
Just tried 568A -> 568B with no luck. I also tried manually setting 100T (and 10T for that matter) with no luck either.

comment How to delete a file from the server using Fog and Carrierwave after it's being downloaded?
Have you thought about having another endpoint to your app where the user can go and be redirected to the S3 url? In the same action you could set a sidekiq worker (or some such) to delete the file in x minutes?

comment Check if Carrierwave image version is exist
Do you have an entry for :thumb (size/ratio, etc) in your CarrierWave setup? The name could be anything you chose; not just :thumb.
