I'm an electrical professional who wears a safety helmet by day and programmer's hat by night. Industrial automation is my thing and I work with control systems such as Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Once in a while I'll make a custom app for data collection and manipulation of devices. Programming a PLC is no different than programming an application as both require critical thinking and a lot of creativity. Only difference is that while bugs in a regular app will cause it to crash and have a poor user experience, in industrial programming, bugs can lead to destruction of property, injuries, and loss of lives.
