comment NSMutableArray returns different counts when called from different places
If the few examples of code you've provided are any indication at all, your codebase is probably raddled with warnings (e.g., you should be seeing warnings for your formatters alone in your NSLog statements). Show your code. What other problems await our perusal?

comment AFNetworking + Google Places API web service + Parse SDK with multiple baseURL
Is using NSURLConnection an option (i.e., using Cocoa's URL loading system natively)? Just set up a connection for each of your endpoints. Given your requirements, maybe AFNetworking isn't the best choice?

comment Parsing SRT file with Objective C
@CraigGrummitt Haven't tried this myself, but: first record the current location of the scanner. Then, scan for \r\n\r\n. If that leads to scanner.isAtEnd == YES, then restore the scanner's location with the saved location, then scan for \n\n.

NSDictionary doesn't recognize the length message, and yet you're passing that to it. You need to find out where that's happening, and fix it.

comment iOS 8 crashing in a weird pattern
It's guaranteed that, if Apple didn't run it at of of the "crash times," one of your customers would. Apple is doing the rest of us a favor until you fix the problem. Meanwhile, some code, or a log from Xcode, or a Crash Reporter report could actually tell us something about the crash. Unknown selector? That's a start...

Don't know what you mean by restoration ID. There's a property on NSControl (of which NSTableView is a subclass) called identifier. That's what you need to set, if you're going to take this approach.

Did you actually set the identifier of variableTableView to "variableTableView"? You're better off simply comparing the pointer values of the table view references.
