I managed to do the second of these options, but without the xmlns="w3.org/1999/xhtml"; and the xmlns:fb="facebook.com/2008/fbml";. Seems to work.

@BrianWren Umm, you are, because a) I never said it was, and b) I never said anyone was pretentious. Someone else did. c) I'm on your side you idiot.

@RalphLavelle Ok, fair point, but I use it like that, and so apparently do others here, so nobody is overstated. Ordinarily I would be less prescriptionist, but in this case I feel it's a fight worth having, especially on a site for programmers.

@Matt R Hey, I'm as much a descriptionist as the next guy, but "begs the question" is a thing; look it up. No matter how much you may believe yourself to be infallible, it is (gasp!) actually possible to be wrong about language sometimes. Good day sir.

@Matt R That's just not correct. Can't play the "language evolves" card here. BrianWren is teaching you something. Be humble and learn.

comment Twitter widget stops page from rendering in IE 8, anybody know why?
There are two linked sites. Neither needs a log-in. One link is down, true. The answer was useful four and a half years ago when I answered it. Want to help by showing where the link shld be now instead of just saying things aren't useful?

comment Selenium WebDriver - Test if element is present
Huh? It was your suggestion! It is a good way to go if your test expects not to find the element. As you show, just return null and assert.isnull or isnotnull, which is a meaningful way to test if a thing exists.

Yep, this is the way to go. Don't understand why people are ignoring this way, and counting matching elements, seeing if the result is 0.
