What are the best ways to utilize Wisdom and Charisma? The original system was written in 1989. Sounds to me like they're using the old background but updating to a new system based around D20? |

How do you administer combat without an Initiative system? Heh, trying to imagine what a hoard of spiders looks like. Not too far different from a horde, I would imagine, but coming from inside a chest, perhaps? |

What's a good class and race for beginners? Is the player happy to accept help in building the character? Some players find others interfering or giving advice when levelling up to be irritating, while others appreciate the help. This is more important for some classes, such as Fighter, that are tricky to build well but are not necessarily difficult to play. |

Would magic 'weapons' make the monk more balanced? Monk's Belt is not a cheap item, so it would take a while until they start to look like a monk. (Curious that Monk's Belt is different in Pathfinder: Monk's Robe – doesn't add WIS-based AC bonus, only level-based.) I agree that Divine Power and Righteous Might are excellent buffs, but, as with the armour, why would you choose to not wield a weapon? |

Would magic 'weapons' make the monk more balanced? Not sure if this is worth writing up as a full question, but how does a cleric make for a good monk? To some extent this is about limitations: the monk's AC bonuses only apply if he is without armour for example. Sure, you could probably make a more effective cleric who can chose to eschew armour, but why would you? Adding +4 to your AC just by putting on a chain shirt is pretty valuable and carries few penalties for a cleric (especially if it is mithral). But he no longer looks like a monk. |

Would magic 'weapons' make the monk more balanced? Yes, I think you're right overall, especially for 3.5, whereas Paizo seem to be doing a good job of addressing some these issues and adding a little more balance to the class. That said, I'd love to see what a more focussed vision of the monk would look like! |

Would magic 'weapons' make the monk more balanced? Thanks for adding you're perspective here; I do think the breadth of abilities that the monk acquires is useful. They're a bit of a Jack-of-all-trades, so will always come up short when analysing any one aspect (e.g. combat, stealth, manoeuvrability) when compared to specialists, but their flexibility (heh) can make them a useful member of the team. Nice to see that they do make a common appearance in some groups! |

In Mail.app 6.0, is there a way to drag-select parts of message bodies? I had the same problem. Particularly annoying when you want to drag attachments into a folder or onto an app in the dock. Restarting Mail fixed the problem for me, but I suspect it may come back… |
