Lubuntu Desktop UI Alternative I think on 2GB RAM unity would be supported if your graphics supports 3d acceleration. Then there is 2d version of unity as well. As far as lightweight DE goes give a try to e17 [known as enlightenment] or xfce. askubuntu.com/questions/65083/…

static ip no internet Could you be more clear on what you are trying to achieve ? Do you have network-manager installed ? AFAIK if you have network-manager installed wired connection is controlled by network-manager and you need to setup static ip through network-manager interface

Help with mod_wsgi exceptions (ubuntu 12.04) Basically your error is saying that you don't have "MODULE_LIST" attribute in settings which is called in this file /opt/questions/apps/osqa/forum/modules/__init__.py line 12.
