I've been a software developer since 1985 starting with FORTRAN 4 on the Modular Computer System, Inc.'s MAX4 operating system. For two years starting in 1992 I worked with Ada on the VMS operating system (which I loved), and then onto various flavors of UNIX (which is great, but I've never loved it like VMS) and Windows.
Since 1998 I've also been an Oracle DBA and architect and have developed several database applications in PL/SQL, Perl, Php, and have now started dabbling with my first Android app using the SqlLite database.
I love coding and have lately been coming home from work and going straight to the laptop to work on the Android app all evening. I'm not the total nerd, though, and have a 28' sailboat I take out at least once a week on the Chesapeake Bay near Baltimore. I also have a family and enjoy watching college and pro football.
