I am originally from San Francisco, CA. Went to prep school in Massachusetts(Eaglebrook), then in Pebble Beach (Robert Louis Stevenson). Graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and now currently reside there.
I majored in Business & Economics with an emphasis in Accounting. What I'm really proud of is receiving mt Technology Entrepreneurship Certificate (TEC) from UCSB's AWESOME Technology Management Program (TMP).
I am currently playing the role of Chief Operating Officer at a start-up called Napses. It's an academic software platform based on the integration of web technologies, cloud storage, student organization and efficiency, and p2p collaboration. We will be releasing the alpha version to a select # of students for the fall quarter. Although it is not complete yet, the feedback we've been getting from people we've shown it to is through the roof.
I think people are over-saturating the start-up world and getting caught up in the hype generated from the Facebook/Instagram news. It seams as though everyone nowadays claims to be "an entrepreneur," when 5 years ago it was looked down upon to be working at a start-up. So I won't get on the hype of calling myself "an entrepreneur" just quite yet. I will say, since I was young I have been "a start-up culture aficionado."
I am joining this community for two reasons: to learn about other people's experiences in their start ups, and to get good advice on my own venture as we go through it.
I look forward to meeting you all and hopefully developing some relationships with like-minded individuals!
