comment Is HIV the cause of AIDS?
@kenorb Kary Mullis also had a conversation with a glowing raccoon under the influence of LSD (that's in his autobiography). Just because a Nobel laureate believes in something doesn't make it true. The simple fact that the drugs targeted at HIV can suppress AIDS effectively pretty much proves that HIV causes AIDS, anything else is a conspiracy theory at this point.

comment How do I play against Hunters as a Zoo Warlock?
There were two Argent Commanders in the first version of this deck. The problem with them (and also with Leeroy) is that they lead to awkward plays with Doomguard if I have both on the hand. The odds that I can keep Leeroy on my hand as a finisher are small when using Doomguards.

comment Issue with zoom feature in MathJax
There is an "uncaught error: restart" from MathJax in the Javascript console when I try to zoom. That might be the source of the problem.

@georgechalhoub How do you propose to solve the problem that we don't necessarily have experts in the subject here on the site? Plausible sounding answers can get a high score even if they're wrong, especially when a question hits the hot questions list and users from other SE sites see it.

comment How much burst damage can a miracle rogue do in one turn?
This is a very nice guide, but there is one obvious point that I think should be spelled out directly. The auctioneer on the board also does 4 damage and has to be included in the calculation. And your point about the coin can't be made bold enough, of course I forgot to account for that as well and got hit by more damage than I expected.

@DikranMarsupial I wanted to rename the site to [Citation Needed], the Skeptics name does tend to lead to misunderstandings.

@DikranMarsupial While it is rather uncommon, we have a few posts questioning peer-reviewed papers. There are limits to this appoach here because we don't have the specific expertise, but we can handle the easier cases of pseudoscience getting published that should not have been. In most cases though not by logic, but by showing contradiction in facts.

That post is from the early beta, most of our current policies didn't exist back then (unreferenced answers were not deleted, and notability requirements didn't exist as well). It is not really representative of the current state of the site

1+3) We generally leave a comment in cases where the answer is salvageable. The "citation needed" notice is the first step to deletion if the answer isn't improved. That isn't happening consistently right now, but that is mostly because we never got the appropriate tools to let the community enforce our rules (a "citation needed" review queue for example). 2) That is a help center page with the default SE text, we can't edit it unless SE makes it editable.
